Man of the Month: José Luis Reséndez

Well, this is a bit of a surprise. All month long, Rafael Amaya had been leading José Luis Reséndez in our latest Man of the Month poll, and yesterday I had begun to gather together my photos of Mr. Amaya in preparation for what I expected to be his win. But sometime today, Mr. Reséndez crept ahead in the poll, and he had the slightest of leads when I closed the poll at midnight, October 3. (Reséndez won 29.86% of the vote, with Amaya getting 29.30%; the full poll results can be seen here.) So, yes, José Luis Reséndez is our Man of the Month for October, 2006.

It's getting late, so let me quote from Wikipedia: "José Luis Reséndez Santos (born October 14, 1978 in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico) won the national male pageant El Modelo Mexico and represented his country in Mister World 2003, held in London, England, where he became the third runner-up. He is also an actor." He first gained widespread attention via his appearance in "Big Brother VIP: México" in 2002; since then, he's acted in such telenovelas as "La Madrastra" and "Alborada".
