Carlos Ponce Hosts ¡Viva Hollywood!

Carlos Ponce will co-host "¡Viva Hollywood!", a new reality TV show that will premiere on VH1 on Sunday, May 13 at 10:30PM EST:

Latin telenovelas are so hot, so sexy, so extreme, so emotional...don't you wish you knew what the hell they were saying? Thanks to VH1 your wish is about to become a reality. We're gathering the hottest group of aspiring Latino actors who think they have the stuff to be America's Numero Uno Telenovela Star.

Our cast of fiery wannabes will live together, fight together, make love together...while competing for the coveted title and a Hollywood prize package that includes a contract with Telemundo, the biggest telenovela production company in the United States.

Here's a look at the male contestants, courtesy of the ¡Viva Hollywood! website:

Vinci Alonso. a 26 year old model from Miami, FL
(actually, we've met him before, when he starred in MTV's "8th and Ocean")

Kalain Santos, a 24 year old model, originally from Puerto Rico

There's been some activity on the Carlos Ponce front! First, his official web site has been updated to include a photo gallery. There's nothing really new, but it's still worth checking out.

Another welcome return: it looks like Carlos Ponce will soon be seen again in something called Dame Chocolate for Telemundo. Speaking of Carlos, it looks like his official web site is due to re-open soon; and, hey, he's got an MySpace page.

What I'm really looking forward to, though, is Christian Meier in "Zorro: La espada y la rosa". No pictures are available yet, but Christian Meier as Zorro? That'll be hot!

Carlos Ponce on the History Channel en Español

Anyone here get the The History Channel en español? If so, you can tune in and catch some Carlos Ponce.

Viewers of The History Channel en español are going to be seeing a lot of Carlos Ponce in the weeks to come.

Ponce — a 33-year-old Puerto Rican pop singer, actor and "Entertainment Tonight" correspondent — has been tapped as the spokesman for the Spanish-language network's tribute to Hispanic Heritage Month. A national celebration, it kicks off Friday [Sept. 15] and continues through Oct. 15, celebrating Iberian, Latin American and Caribbean cultures and traditions... Ponce will be part of radio ads, as well as promo spots and point-of-purchase materials that will be located at operators’ call and payment centers.

Moreover, Ponce will serve as an on-air host for the channel, which will introduce five new programs from different parts of the Latino world during the period: The Kidnapping of Ingrid Betancourt (Colombia); Balseros (Cuba); State of Fear (Peru); Behind the Shadows (Mexico); and The Madness of Don Quixote (Spain). Here's a video clip of Carlos Ponce in his role as a special correspondent for "Entertainment Television." While Carlos is interviewing actress Cote De Pablo about her role on "NCIS," he and "NCIS" star Michael Weatherby both end up shirtless. Cote and Carlos used to co-host the Spanish-language TV show "Control."
