Mauricio Ochmann Revealed

Mexican actor Mauricio Ochmann, late of "Amarte Así" and "Dame Chocolate", will star in "Tiempos de Victoria", a new telenovela set to debut on Telemundo in January, 2008. From Wikipedia:

Tiempos de Victoria (Victoria's Times) is the working title of a Spanish-language telenovela produced by the United States-based television network Telemundo and RTI Colombia. This limited-run series is expected to debut in the US in January, 2008, possibly after Madre Luna finishes. Filmed in Bogotá, it stars Victoria Ruffo, Mauricio Ochmann, Arturo Peniche, Geraldine Bazan, and Andrea López.

Victoria is a remake of Señora Isabel, a 1993 Colombian soap about a woman who falls in love with a dashing younger man when her marriage collapses around her. Her rich husband deserts her for his mistress and their children blame her for the breakup. This story was also filmed for Mexican TV in 1997 as Mirada de mujer (The Gaze of a Woman).

Marina, the new telenovela starring Mauricio Ochmann, debuts tonight at 8:30 PM on Telemundo. I won't be able to watch it, as I don't get Telemundo, so y'all watch it for me, O.K.? One of my favorites, Mauricio Ochmann, looks to be returning in fine form via the upcoming telenovela, "Marina", which is currently filming in Mexico. Time for me to send a few more polite emails to my cable provider demanding that they give me some Telemundo.



Found via this Mauricio Ochmann blog, which I think is authored by Jimbo. Check out their photo albums; Jimbo also has a forum devoted to Mr. Ochmann. For more information (in English) on "Marina", check out this article. And I think it'd be a good idea to add Mauricio Ochmann to the next Man of the Month poll, no?

For those who want to save videos from YouTube, a new bit of freeware came to my attention: YouRipper 1.20. I haven't tried it out yet, but it might be worth a try. To play the downloaded files, you'll need a FLV player -- free ones include FLV Player and Riva FLV player.

New from Telemundo

Some new stuff from Telemundo. First off, they're asking you to vote for your favorite Telemundo celebrity, and they have a photo gallery of the candidates. Check it out for new pictures of such luminaries as Michel Brown, Erick Elais, José Angel Llamas, and Mauricio Ochmann (pictured below). No shirtless pics, but lots of pretty faces.

El Príncipe Azul concluded last Friday. I didn't watch it... despite my lust for Melvin Cabrera, the show was finally just too cheesy. I'll settle for new photos of Melvin, which Telemundo has given us (along with pictures of his co-star, José Luis Franco). I'll have some screencaps from El Príncipe Azul soon.

Mauricio Ochmann once starred in the stage version of The Graduate (you know, based on the Dustin Hoffman movie?), with the requisite stripping-down-to-his-boxers scene. I found these pictures in this moj-album, which is chock full of Ochmann goodness. He can currently be seen on the telenovela Amarte Así on Telemundo, but hurry -- it's in its final weeks.

Another new telenovela debuts tonight, this time on Telemundo at 7:00pm EST. (This should be the last new one for awhile!) It's titled Amarte Así, and it stars the beauteous Mauricio Ochmann.

Unfortunately, it doesn't sound like there'll be a lot of chances for Mauricio to show some skin. Here's a plot summary for "Amarte Así", courtesy of www.serials.ru:

El Frijol ("Little Bean") is a brilliant boy with a big heart who believes his father passed away when he was a baby. But in reality, his father, David is very much alive... David's life is turned upside down when he meets Frijol who warms his seemingly bitter heart with his tenderness. Neither Frijol nor David realize they are father and son.


Sounds a bit too sweet for me. Might be worth checking out for Mauricio, though.

Update: I was wrong. Mauricio showed the goods in the first episode.
